I am a shorty momma from the Philippines and moved to the USA with my loving husband Tim and we are happily married. I am a very proud mom of a precious little boy named Harley! I have lots of interests in life and my newly found interest is blogging. I like to write just about anything there is to talk about. You will get to know more about me and my family on this blog. I like to cook, bake, fish, hunt, watch movies, and more. I love my life and I definitely love sharing every minute with my family. We live in Chetopa, a small town located at the Southeast corner of Kansas. Its population is about 1200 to 1300 and is a really nice and peaceful community. Chetopa is the Catfish and Pecan Capital of Kansas. We enjoy living here in Chetopa and this is the place where my husband and I got married and started our family. We have a farm that we love to go to and just spend time out there with each other. Life is one big adventure that we cherish every moment that comes. And blogging or writing about is one way to keep the memories alive.

The love of fishing!

Before I came here to US, my husband Tim was already talking about fishing and how fun it is specially if you get a lunker. He got me so excited into learning how to fish for I have never fished before. I know I am from the Philippines, surrounded by ocean but yet never fished before and don't even know how to swim. He calls me an island girl and was so surprised when he knew that. LOL! Anyway, the moment I came here, he introduced me into a lot of things and one of those is fishing. So funny because he was bragging me about big lunkers out there in the river that you can fish. But then one time when we were fishing together for the first time, he actually got a really small chad. hahaha... We just laughed our guts out because we think it was that funny! Bragging about big catfish and then you actually got a small one. I said to him, "Is that your big fish?" And it so happened that our farmer Mike was there and his son, and they were just all laughing. hahaha..

It was such a fun first time experience for me. To be able to cast your line and to actually feel the pole moving as the fish starts to take the bait. Tim told me how and when is the best time to jerk it so you won't miss the fish. Fishing for catfish is actually quite fun. Specially when they put up a fight before you can reel them in and on the river bank. Sometimes, you just gotta give it a slack and let it be. Later on they get tired of splashing around and then you will be able to reel it in. The only thing that I don't like that much though is when you put your bait on the hook. We actually use real worms. hehehe.. And kind of gross but that's part of the fun!

The hobby continued on even when I was pregnant with my baby boy, Harley. Fishing time was still good and we always go to the farm as we have to access to the river and we can just spend our whole afternoon sitting on the river bank, waiting for some action and just enjoy the beauty of nature. As you can see in the picture, that is me already pregnant and still enjoying my fishing. It sort of like natural to me. I mean, it feels like I am born to be a fisherman. Well, I guess a fisher woman. hehehe.. Because usually I get 5 to 10 catfish and sometimes in one casting it doesn't even take that long, boom! I got a bite! My husband would always complain, but I know he is just kidding. Because I already get a bite before he even gets to put his bait on his hook. So he ends up skinning the fish and I would be the one fishing. hahaha... But sometimes I do have some bad luck in fishing though and then he gets the really big lunkers.

It is so much fun specially we get to do it together. Such a great moment to bond with your husband and spend some quality time, as we call it! We are just some fun loving couple that doesn't take much to make us happy. We are looking forward for some more fishing time together specially now that baby Harley is here. We are gonna teach him how to do it by the time he is old enough to fish.

(5th catfish I caught that day)
